This SS Drop Top Camaro was quite dirty when it arrived here. A serious bathing wash needed just to evaluate the situation. DEEP Scrubbing of the cloth top & Claying the paint ,plus scrubbing all the door jambs under the hood & trunk with tooth brushes on my hands & knees , added a few hours to the touch down time for indoor inspection. Once inside I let it dry in the A/C for 24 hours while inspecting & formulating the plan of attack.
Attack the top 1st cover entire car with plastic taping off the roof is important so not to contaminate the paint . Delinting with high tack packing tape, to get every speck before Appling the sealant is important. Then it must set for 24 hours to cure.
Then tape off the top & attack the paint & vinyl stripes, the Vinyl closest to the Sun was very damaged ,Not sure Why GM would not paint them stripes but … Compound ,Polish , Degrease with a lot of Paint Prep then onto the coasting process.
After the Coating ”C Quartz” it must set for 48 hours. in the Dry A/C.
Then the interior cleaning & cleaning the inside of the windows. Thank Goodness it was a Convertible I imagine I would get stuck inside if it was a coupe.
NOTE: the information I gathered said that the “HED (Heads up display) has a special tint film inside. I used “Stones Invisible Glass” All new ,virgin materials used. Applicators, Microfiber Towels ,ECT on the entire car.
All & All Rob & I Were very pleased with the end results.
