SO! Norm being a dear friend of mine & he always takes very good care of his rides When this 2004 Heritage Softail came in I literally said out load " Oh Boy A easy Job for a change"! (I will from blurting that phrase out loud again for the rest of my life)
At first it was going very well, Then I noticed a small amount of Medium heavy rust on the spot light bars . So I had to remove them to treat them. The Plugs are under the Tank.
OK Onward.
Then I notice some heavy rust on the inside of the head light bezel then meant removing the head lamp
Ok Back to cleaning, so to clean around the "Cowbells" (Upper tins covering upper forks) I removed the 2 bolts when I did I noticed the Forks were leaking!
OK Forks out to Severe Cycles for rebuild & seals.
At this time Norm Decided to replace both tires.
SO to replace the tiny bolts with Stainless in the Lower Front Fender Trim Skirt. It's rusted!
So I bought & painted it with Polyurethane Enamel which did not match well so then I bought Base coat Clear coat which did the trick!
LMFAO so the simple job turn into medium surgery.
I thought maybe I should pre-emptively yank the engine & drive train just to make sure we don't miss anything ( Dry Sarcastic Humor Deal with it!) After that the Puzzle went back together very well.
